최근에 산업조직뿐만 아니라 무역이론, 거시경제이론, 노동이론, 그리고 국제 통화체제론에서 조차 광범위하게 이용되고 있는 게임이론의 기초를 재확인하고 게임이론의 틀을 이용하여 현실경제를 분석하고 모형화할 수 있는 능력을 배양하기 위한 과목이다. 현대 게임이론은 정적인 내쉬균형 개념이 점차 세련화(Refinement)되어 가는 과정에서 발전되고 있다. 따라서 본 과목에서도 기본적인 내쉬균형 개념이 동태적 상황과 정보의 미비라는 새로운 환경에서 어떻게 변화되어가고 있는가를 중심으로 학습하게 될 것이다.
